Off we go to downtown Madrid…first stop is a central café with rather racy tiled images on the walls and even on the exterior. Love it!
Dramatically uplit hotel in Plaza Santa Ana, near where I lived in Madrid. The white exterior, coupled with the vibrant lavendar lighting is just gorgeous. Many celebrities stay here, very chic!
Stencil graffiti on a sycamore tree in Madrid – actually I sort of liked it – it reminded me a lot of Sean.
For Hygenic Reasons, don´t spit on the floor!
These are the coolest corbels! On a bank building on the main drag in Madrid near Retiro Park.
Taken from the top of one of Madrid´s galleries on the main drag, I wonder whose idea it was to put this magnificent sculpture of a chariot way up here? Vistas from heaven, perhaps?
Sculptural exterior wall on the bank building in Madrid – La Caixa, all done in plants.
Gorgeous stained glass in the San Francisco cathedral, Madrid
Dia de los Reyes – Jan. 5th – the annual parade through the streets of Madrid.
Wonderful HUGE balloons, touching down so the crowd could tap them gently.
An acrobat Angel – floating on her trapeze under a bouquet of white helium balloons, They slowly had her descend and released the balloons. WOW!
The massive lit Christmas Tree in Puerta del Sol, you could go inside it and look up!
Holiday lights on the buildings, beautiful!
Churros and hot Chocolate – the perfect treat on a cold winter’s night!
Live Flamenco music under the stars in front of the Royal Palace – it was FREE, too! Tio Pepe sherry and lovely fresh cream puffs were plentiful – I ate WAY too many! YUM.
Thanks for the tip on the palace tour. I’m also happy to hear that the smokers are outside!
